PEC Board of Trustees Selects Kevin Wood as New CEO

(Ada, Okla.) ó Peopleís Electric Cooperative (PEC) announced today that its board of trustees has unanimously chosen Kevin Wood as the cooperativeís next Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer. Wood, who currently serves as PECís Senior Vice-President of Corporate Services, will succeed Randy Ethridge who has served in the role since 1985.

"After thorough succession planning and comprehensive deliberation, the board is pleased to have found the best individual to assume leadership of the cooperative," said Eldon Flinn, President of PECís Board of Trustees. "Kevin continues to garner respect both inside and outside of the cooperative for his ability to lead. His deep industry knowledge and experience makes him uniquely qualified to lead PEC successfully into the future. We're delighted that he's accepted the position."

Wood joined PEC in 1993 while attending East Central University. Upon receiving his bachelorís degree in 1997, he joined the co-op full-time as a construction technician. After completing the apprentice program and becoming a journeyman lineman, Wood was named Director of SCADA and Environmental Services. In 2004 he was promoted to the position of Operating Services Unit Manager. Serving in this role he supervised several departments of the cooperativeís Operations Division. Since 2014, Wood has served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Services at PEC. During this time he has been responsible for the human resources and public relations duties at the cooperative, while continuing to supervise PECís Dispatching and SCADA Services. Most recently, he has been an integral part of PECís management team responsible for the negotiations of power purchase contracts which are aimed to secure PECís current and future power needs. Kevin is an Ada High School graduate. He and his wife, Shana, live at Latta. They have four daughters, Taryn Mills (husband Brandon), twins Tori and Tawni and youngest daughter Tybrie.

Regarding the impending retirement of Randy Ethridge, Wood expressed his appreciation for Ethridgeís dedicated service for the past 31 years. ďRandy has been a remarkable leader and mentor who has been responsible for a great portion of PECís success over the years. He leaves a big set of shoes to fill. Randy has always set the bar high. I'm looking forward to the challenge of continuing a tradition of excellence at PEC," said Wood.

PEC is a member-owned, not-for-profit electric transmission and distribution cooperative headquartered in Ada, Oklahoma. Established in 1938 by local citizens to bring electricity to rural families, farms and businesses, PEC now delivers electricity to more than 15,000 homes and businesses in 11 south central Oklahoma counties.
