Communications Assistant

Department: Corporate Communications & Community Relations
Hours: Part Time
Shift: M-F, 4 hours a day
Job Summary: The Communications Assistant provides administrative support to the Corporate Communications and Community Relations Department; Assists in all phases of a yearly product promotion, from the initial concept design to final implementation of the marketing program, including performance tracking and reporting of the Member Service Department sales of value-added products and services; Accepts and processes incoming ads for the classified section of the Peopleís Powerline monthly newsletter; Assists in the development of banners and other marketing material and promotional items; Coordinates accommodations for inter-departmental meetings, as needed; Assists with the creation and development of the video production and photography needs of the cooperative; Assists with the maintenance of PECís Intranet and Internet websites; Serves as the primary editor and publisher of Connections, PECís bi-monthly employee newsletter.
Qualifications: Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, typing skills, and friendly personality. Must be able to proficiently produce publications using the Adobe Creative Suite, at minimum, the InDesign program. Should be able to work both independently and with a team. Prefer an effective communicator with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent skills in Microsoft Office are required. Must be available to work on a part-time basis up to 20 hours per week on a work schedule as determined by the Cooperative. Must be capable of lifting up to 30 pounds and carrying a reasonable distance.
